Multitasking writer-actress Mindy Kaling (who has a regular gig writing and starring on The Office, and also appeared in the Natalie Portman rom-com No Strings Attached in January) can now add another title to her list of achievements: Author. Kaling, who regularly broadcasts her witticisms over Twitter, has a book of humorous essays that will be published by Random House in November.
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) is made up of essays — some a few pages, others just a few sentences — with titles like “The 20 Things You Need to Do If You’re A Guy” and “Don’t Peak in High School.” Kaling jokes that it’s a “bossy” book, but there are also more irreverent chapters, like the one made up of photos from her Blackberry, and one simply titled “B.J. Novak” (about her Office co-writer and on-screen love interest).
This morning, Kaling tweeted a photo of the cover, wiht the comment, I wanted my book cover to have the feeling that I was cast in a Wes Anderson movie, but people avoided me on set.
Looks appropriately wry to us.
