Well, this is surprising (not): Victoria Beckham thinks she can park anywhere she wants because she’s famous.
Daily Mail reports that the former Spice Girl pulled up to a Toys R’ Us in Harlow, Essex, and her chauffeur parked her Jaguar in a handicapped spot. A little while later, a woman suffering from cystic fibrosis, Chantelle Hughes, wasn’t able to park her car, because Victoria had taken the last handicapped spot. Chantelle noticed that Victoria’s car did not have a handicapped sticker. She reportedly waited patiently until Victoria emerged, and was stunned to see that it was Posh Spice who had snagged the spot.
Apparently, Victoria had ducked into Toys R’ Us to purchase last-minute Bob the Builder balloons for her son, Cruz’s, sixth birthday. Of the incident, Victoria’s spokesperson, told Daily Mail, “This was a momentary lapse in judgement by Victoria’s driver, not something that Victoria was aware of or would ever condone… Victoria is of course, hugely apologetic for any inconvenience that may have been caused.”
Victoria joins a string of celebrities, who think they (unconsciously or not) deserve special treatment because they’re famous (Paris Hilton, Winona Ryder, Lindsay Lohan). But, it seems that if it was Victoria’s chaffeuer who chose the spot, Victoria really could have been too distracted to notice it was a handicapped slot. And it’s not like she shoplifted or did anything especially criminal; although illegal, it seems that she was in a hurry and really could have just run into the store, unaware of where her driver had parked the car. Personally, I’ll let this one slide, but I’ll be on the lookout for more suspicious, special-treatment antics by Victoria.
