Yesterday, Kelsey Grammer and fiance, Kayte Walsh, tied the knot. According to People, the wedding was held in NYC’s Longacre Theatre, where Kelsey had recently starred in the Tony-award winning play, La Cage aux Falles, as anyone who has watched Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, starring Kelsey’s ex-wife, Camille Donatocci Grammer, already knows. According to Us Magazine, some of Kelsey’s kids from his previous marriage were involved with the wedding as bridesmaids or groomsmen, including his adult daughters Greer Grammer and Spencer Grammer (of the ABC TV show, Greek) and his 5-year-old son with Camille, Jude Grammer. Notably absent was Mason Grammer, Kelsey’s daughter with Camille, who Camille alleges has chosen to skip the nuptials to perform the song “Fame” at a talent show. (Something smells a little fishy here). The wedding reception was held in the Grand Ballroom reception at the Plaza hotel, where the guests dined on a four-course menu with vegetarian options (to accodomate Kayte, a vegetarian).
There are a bunch more wedding details I don’t care about. Look, I hate to be a pessimist, but how long do you give it until the divorce? Clearly the odds are not in their favor. Let’s review:
- Kelsey is 55; Kayte is 29
- Kelsey has been married 3 times before Kayte; at least two of them ended in divorce as a result of Kelsey’s cheating
- Kelsey got Kayte pregnant while still married to Camille. After the new couple announced Kayte’s pregnancy, she miscarried the next month. Although the two did not announced their engagement until December 28, 2010, could it be that Kelsey felt a certain obligation (moral or PR-wise) to marry Kayte as a result of the pregnancy?
It makes sense that this would end in divorce but, hey, you never know. Kelsey’s no spring chicken and he might not be able to win over cookie-cookie tan, blonde brides, forever, seeing as how Camille is getting a divorce settlement that is somewhere between $30 million to $50 million. In other words, congrats!
