Notes From Sundance: No One Likes Channing Tatum’s New Movie ‘Son Of No One’

Dito Montiel was a big hit with his first movie, A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints. For his second film, he signed on Channing Tatum and scored a big launch at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. But bad news for Channing’s acting career. No one seems to like it so far.

The film also stars Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, Juliette Binoche, and Katie Holmes. With that many big names, some studio is likely to pick up the movie. But there was an “exodus” at the film’s earliest screening yesterday. And that’s definitely not good news for Dito Montiel or old C-Tate.

Montiel’s first movie was an autobiographical urban coming of age story and won multiple awards after premiering at Sundance in 2006. This one is a crime drama, and it looks like Channing hasn’t escaped his reputation as a monosyllabic thug on screen. Conveniently, our friends at FilmDrunk have created the satirical poster above from the film. Just in case there aren’t any positive blurbs of the film, we’ll always have that.
