Crushable Quotable: Michelle Williams Felt Like A Mobster Filming ‘Dawson’s Creek’

Of all the adorable teen stars from The WB’s hit show Dawson’s Creek, Michelle Williams‘ career post Dawson‘s has been the most acclaimed. And while she may appreciate that the show launched her career, it looks like she didn’t enjoy filming it. Why’s that? Because she compared the show to being in the mob in a recent interview with Popeater:

“Being on ‘Dawson’s Creek’ was kind of like being a mobster. You set up a shop selling pizza but in the back you’re laundering money. You’re doing one thing in plain sight and secretly plotting something else. I was plotting my tastes, my interests, my beliefs and hopes for what I could be.”

Does that mean James Van Der Beek was plotting to forever be known as Dawson? Also, this quote may be obnoxious. I sort of hate it when stars act like their first big gig was beneath them. But also, I kind of love Michelle Williams. And much of her post- Dawson’s work has been amazing and completely unexpected to come from Jen from Dawson’s Creek. What do you think?
