See what happens when we actually have an office to go to in the morning? We totally missed out on yesterday’s edition of The View, which featured a segment with the lovely Beyonce and her “fashion for the people”mama, Tina Knowles. And while we thought we had heard everything we needed to know about Tina’s personal wardrobe from the V magazine profile we posted yesterday, that “one Chanel jumpsuit” can’t even hold a candle to Miss Tina’s Spring collection.
Yeah, that’s right. Tina just called Spanx the best invention ever made. Hey, someone needs to speak the truth!
Though we’re still a little “eh” on putting the plus-sized model next to the regular model to show how versatile the Miss Tina line is. Do we really need to compare and contrast against the normative standard of beauty? Why not just put one of the older women (props to Tina for making a line to suit several age groups, btw) next to the young, sultry model? Not that we’re comparing being old to being plus-size, but put either group (or literally, anyone else) next to an actual model, and you’re not showing how “diverse” your clothing label is. You’re just reaffirming the standard that regular-sized women won’t look as good in your outfits as people whose job it is to be a human coat-hanger.
