Crush This: More Hamm And Buble Please, Lorne Michaels!

Crush This is your weekly guide to what’s coming up in music, movies and TV in the next week. CMJ is over and New York will certainly miss the buzz of a million concerts going on, but there is a lot to look forward to in the following week…espeically on television.

  • For those of you who are still grieving the loss of Mad Men, there is a faint light at the end of the tunnel. Jon Hamm is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend with Rihanna as musical guest! I mean, it won’t be just like watching Don Draper, but sometimes in hardships one must make sacrifices. But that is not all SNL has to offer this upcoming week…
  • Finally, women are being recognized (just kidding). Tune into NBC on Saturday at 11:30 PM to watch some of the funniest women in comedy, such as Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig. NBC is hosting their second ever tribute to the funny women of SNL! Which means 30 Rock star Tina Fey will return to SNL in this two hour estrogen filled tribute. And the best part? They will be doing a skit channeling their best Real Housewives.
  • OK, so this Sunday is Halloween. If you’re reading this, you’re probably too old to trick-or-treat. So what will you do on Sunday night? Go see Saw VII! I think we all know exactly what to expect in the seventh movie of this series. But how will this one stand apart from the rest? It’s in 3D. Good save, Saw. But for those of you out there who hate Halloween, there is a TV channel you can turn to without being forced to sit through a horror movie. On the 31st, TBS is having an all day movie marathon of the least scary movies ever, such as Father of the Bride, Titanic, Forrest Gump and more.
  • But for those of you who do love Halloween and all movies that come with it, movies that are both fun and scary are available to you all weekend right from your couch. Starting tonight at 7 PM, FX is showing two movies from the Halloween series. On Saturday, the children’s classic Hocus Pocus is on ABC Family and 8 and 10 PM. On Sunday, don’t miss Beetlejuice on Nickelodeon at 7 PM to see some sexy, old school Alec Baldwin.
