Welcome to Crush This, your weekly guide to what’s new in movies, music and TV. We’ve navigated the inner reaches of our entertainment-obsessed brains in search of all the pop culture landscape has to offer. This week, we’re still recovering from last week’s whirlwind of the fall TV season premieres. A little Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake in The Social Network should help.
Movies: Three words: The. Social. Network. Need we say more? One of the most anticipated movies about social media aka “The Facebook Movie” (finally) hits theaters Friday. Friday is also October 1, which means the horror movie season is here. Celebrate the season with Let Me In, a vampire movie starring Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz, Renee Zellweger in Case 39 and Hatchett 2.
TV: Fall TV season premiere week continues this week, but we’re happy there aren’t as many new shows premiering — we need to catch up with everything we missed from last week. No Ordinary Family, a new drama on ABC about a family that develops superpowers, premieres Tuesday, along with a new season of The Good Wife in CBS. And on Wednesday we’ll be watching the newest Law & Order franchise, Law & Order: Los Angeles.
Music: We love author Nick Hornby (who’s written things like High Fidelity and About A Boy) and we love Ben Folds, so we’re looking forward to their collaboration, Lonely Avenue, out Tuesday. And though he’s currently doing time in Rikers, Lil Wayne wasn’t too busy to put out a new album, I Am Not A Human Being, available today.
