If you’re going to interview Drew Barrymore, don’t ask her about her “wild child” past. She will politely answer your questions and then talk smack to another reporter later. That’s what happened during an interview Drew did with the London Daily Standard, and the writer got a great quote out of it. An unexpected, violent, bitchy quote:
“You should have heard this bitch I had to do an interview with before you. God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing. I have no problem talking about it. I am not someone who is ashamed of my past. I’m actually really proud. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but they in turn were my life lessons.
“It’s actually good to get it done young and have a great life later. But yeah, man, I wanted to rip this woman’s face off. She just would not shut up about it.”
While ripping someone’s face off is inappropriate, we have to side with Drew on this one: Her life story is BORING. We’ve heard Drew’s cautionary tale over and over again. She was interesting for a while, what with the string of husbands and the Letterman flashing, but then she grew up and became a major player in the entertainment industry. And Going The Distance will probably do well.
Will Drew ever live down her past? For that matter, will Robert Downey Jr. or Lindsay Lohan (after she wins an Oscar, etcera)?
