Doug Reinhardt – recently split from ex Paris Hilton – tells Crushable he’s enjoying the single life.
“It’s nice to be single and work on yourself,” Doug says. “That’s what I’m into right now. … I’m not looking for anybody. If anybody comes that I like, I’ll pursue that.”
But, “When you look for it, that’s when all the bad ones come,” he tells Crushable.
While Doug and Paris were spotted giving each other the evil eye in St. Tropez last month, the exes are on amicable terms.
“We happened to be (in St. Tropez) at the same time,” says Doug. “A lot of the clubs make up stories. … It gets old. I wish her the best. I hope she finds happiness. I’m doing my thing, she’s doing her thing.”
At the moment, Doug – who just returned from a weeklong whitewater rafting trip in Utah – is training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro next month. He’s scaling the peak with two buddies; meanwhile, Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa – stands at 20,000 feet.
“I was an athlete my entire life,” he says. “I’m just trying to stay active and stay in shape. Push mind over matter.”
Also on his plate: The pilot for his reality series, Reinhardt’s Family Comes First, which he’s hoping will find a spot on E!’s primetime lineup. Besides Doug, the show would star his younger sister Casey Reinhardt and his roommate Matt Mosko; the plot, he says, thickens when Casey moves in with Doug and Matt, and Matt develops feelings for Casey.
“The crush thing kind of scares me,” says Doug. “I don’t want anything going on when I’m not around.” Indeed, he “made that very clear.”
Doug – who’s dated It Girls from Paris to Lauren Conrad – is helping Casey navigate the gritty-and-glamourous L.A. scene.
Any word of advice?
“Watch out for the sharks,” he says. “And don’t get too caught up in the whole Hollywood environment. It will chew you up and spit you out.”
