We’re stoked that ER alum Shane West is popping up on TV again on the new butt-kicking CW series Nikita. And we’re even more pleased to hear that Shane is filling us in on one of our favorite past-times: tattoo stories. The show, starring Shane as a CIA operative, and producers are letting him reveal his tats along with those of series star Maggie Q.
“They did it for Nikita so they better for me,” he declared to Crushable.com yesterday.
We’re not going to complain if Shane spends most of the new series with his shirt off. And you’ll feel like a genius when you can totally describe in detail the one he has on his left shoulder to your friends.
“It’s a panther, with a circle around him,” Shane confessed. “I did this film called What We Do Is Secret, which is based on punk rock legend Darby Crash. I got the same tattoo to honor him and his band, the Germs, and getting to know his family and his friends and all the hell we went through trying to make that movie,” which Shane complete during his three-year stint on ER. “The entire time I was on ER the film finally finished, and that was the only project I did.”
As for its meaning: “One of the lines of Darby’s song is that he came into this world as a panther, and that everything comes in circles because everything always wind up back where it started,” Shane explained.
And yes, there may be a chance of us seeing it soon, since there’s some definite hints that there’s been past romantic interludes between Nikita, the trained government assassin who’s escaped the system and is trying to take down the people that forced her to kill.
“There is a little bit of flirtation [between Michael and Nikita] and something could potentially be there,” Shane revealed. “You can possibly believe that these two characters may have had a history and may have a future.”
Better. Because we want to see those other three tattoos, Shane. For sure.
Nikita premieres Thursday, Sept. 9 on The CW.
