Known for her devil-may-care attitude, singer M.I.A. committed a most heinous crime of fashion yesterday: socks with sandals. Though it’s a risky sartorial choice, let us say this: it was also an inappropriate one! We were in New York yesterday too, and it was disgusting and humid and raining. Perhaps M.I.A. forgot to check the barometer when she headed out of the house, but we’re pretty sure it would have said, “Weather Advisory: this is possibly the worst weather in which to wear thick cotton socks with Dr. Scholl’s sandals. Save them for another day!”
