Justin Bieber was one of several celebrities who appeared on Larry King‘s oil spill telethon last night, encouraging his young fans to do their part by donating money or time.
“There’s no such thing as being too young to pitch in, and this is urgent,” Justin said, motivating all of this tween fans to pick up their cells and text donations that their parents will find on their cell phone bills next month. “What we do now will effect our future. You can donate money or time…anything to the groups that you’ve heard about on the show.”
And it worked. Justin Bieber and fellow celebs like Ian Somerhalder and Jenny McCarthy helped raise $1.81 million for Gulf Coast clean-up efforts last night. What do you think about Justin and the others using their celebrity to ask for donations?
