Welcome to Crush This, your weekly guide to what’s new in movies, music and TV. We’ve navigated the inner reaches of our entertainment-obsessed brains in search of all the pop culture landscape has to offer. This week: the 90′s return to the new music scene while the movies look more like the 80′s. Oh, and Glee‘s first season is almost over! Say it ain’t so.
Movies: It’s the 80′s all over again with The A-Team and Karate Kid both premiering in theaters on Friday. The question is: do you want to see either one? What about Joan Rivers‘ A Piece of Work? It debuts Friday as well.
TV: What a season it’s been — New Directions make it to regionals in Tuesday night’s season finale of Glee. But will they win or lose?
But as we say goodbye to Glee, new shows are starting their summer runs — like ABC Family’s much anticipated (by us) Pretty Little Liars, which premieres Tuesday. Behind the Music makes a triumphant return Monday on Vh1, and Wednesday is a reality show blitz with I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant on TLC, Work of Art on Bravo and You’re Cut Off! in Vh1. And even though we said good-bye to the Real Housewives of New York City last week, Bethenny Frankel‘s back this Thursday with Bethenny’s Getting Married? and a whole new cast of characters. And don’t forget the Housewives reunion show!
Music: Christina Aguilera‘s back! After revealing her new look and new single, Christina’s album Bionic drops Tuesday. And if you’re ready for a 90′s repeat, Hanson, Jewel, Nada Surf and Robyn also have new albums in stores Tuesday, along with Lil Jon and Rooney.
And if you’re still jonesing for some Glee, get pumped for the season finale Tuesday with the new six-song CD, Glee: The Music — Journey to Regionals.
