Aziz Ansari’s Plans For MTV Movie Awards: To Recreate All The Best MTV Moments At Once

As MTV revealed the viewer-selected nominations for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards (with The Hangover, New Moon and Avatar leading the pack) the show’s host Aziz Ansari spoke to reporters about his plans for the big show on June 6.

“As soon as I was asked to host I went and watched both Twilight movies to get a quick crash course. It’s pretty remarkable,” Aziz revealed. “My goal is just at some point maybe touch Robert Pattinson’s hair or maybe try to get a photo with Taylor Lautner’s abs. If I can pull that off, I’ll be happy.”

On a more serious note, Aziz said his background as a stand-up comic will help him to think on his feet while hosting. “As far as an award show that will give you fodder to react to, you can’t get better than the MTV Movie Awards,” he added.

Still, award shows don’t really give hosts too much time to stretch their comedic muscles — they are basically limited to the monologue and some video shorts throughout the show. Still, Aziz said he was excited for those original parts of the show. “I have a couple of surprises in store,” he said. “I’m going to try to recreate all the big MTV moments in one moment. I’ll be like falling on Eminem‘s face while Britney Spears is doing a bad performance while Britney Spears again is kissing Madonna, while Kanye West is interrupting that happening at the same time. So if that works out, it will be a big moment.”

And speaking of big moments, this year’s MTV Movie Awards is sure to have some of it’s own. But Aziz said he’s hoping that “Ronnie from the Jersey Shore will maybe interrupt the Twilight people. He thinks Jersey Shore should have won Best Movie and everyone has to awkwardly tell him that Jersey Shore‘s a television show.”
