What Michael Douglas was doing yesterday when the upsetting news broke that Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps has been pushed five months to a September release: Sitting in on his youngest son’s after-school science class in Manhattan. Michael was quiet, possibly ruminating on why — oh why?!?! — Wall Street 2 was delayed amid a a giant publicity blitz that included this here Vanity Fair cover.
So here’s the deal: 20th Century Fox thinks it has Oscar bait on its hands; a September time slot would increase the odds of nabbing a nomination.
Still, this sucks. We want to see this movie. We want to see how Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan stack up against Gordon Gekko.
Are you as pissed as we are? Maybe it’s just us.
