What would American Idol‘s Hollywood week be without the horror of Group Night? While it’s entertaining for those of us at home, it’s often an exercise in frustration for the singers as they try to work together to create a group performance that will propel them through to the next round.
There’s no shortage of drama on Group Night. Take, for instance, this video which demonstrates the showdown between groups Destiny’s Wild and Neopolitan, both of whom sang “Bad Romance”:
Mary Powers and her group called themselves The Dreamers but the background vocals were more nightmare than dream!
This clip shows two groups that should have gotten more air time since they were great, especially Casey James and my current fave Andrew Garcia.
Unfortunately for Phoenix, they proved they weren’t able to roll with the punches after they lost a group member who abruptly quit. Shaken by the sudden change, their vocals weren’t as good as they could have been and Moorea even forgot some of the words which earned her an immediate ticket home – despite her attempts to explain. On the other hand, it’s worth watching just to hear the great job Jermaine Sellers did.
It’s hard to believe how close we’re getting to the top 24!
