Could you empty a box of tissues with one hand in under 60 seconds? Could you wrap a roll of toilet paper around your body in under a minute?
NBC has a new game show Minute to Win It that will make its debut on March 14 that will test its contestants on deceptively simple tasks with one-minute deadlines for cash.
Competitors face 10 seemingly simple challenges using everyday household items that escalate in the level of difficulty. Each game has a one-minute limit. Competitors who fail to finish the task in the one-minute limit are eliminated.
Just like in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the competitor can walk away with money earned up to certain points.
Each contestant is shown more than 60 games prior to the competition and are encouraged to practice these one-of-a-kind challenges at home.
But the question is, can the contestants do these simple tasks in front of a studio audience knowing America is watching them? It seems easy but maybe it’s not so easy!
Hosted by chef and television personality Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives), the show will make its debut on Sundays after the Olympics.
Here’s a look at some of the challenges:
Some of the challenges include:
HANKY PANKY – Using only one hand, the competitor must pull tissues out of a tissue box one-at-a-time until the box is empty.
EGG ROLL – Contestant must move three eggs across the floor and into a target area only by “fanning” the eggs with an empty pizza box.
BOBBLE HEAD – A pedometer is attached to the competitor’s head and he must move his head to rack up a total number of steps to complete the game.
I think the show will be entertaining to watch (for at least a few episodes) because you know we are going to be sitting at home thinking “I could do that!”
Minute to Win It will air from 8 to 9 p.m. ET/PT on Sundays on NBC.
