Alex O’Loughlin officially booked for Hawaii Five-0 gig

Moonlight and Three Rivers hottie Alex O’Loughlin is now officially booked to headline the CBS remake of Hawaii Five-0, according to Entertainment Weekly.

O’Loughlin will play Det. Steve McGarrett, the role originally played by Jack Lord.

Let’s hope that the third time is charm for O’Loughlin, whose other two shows have been canceled after the first seasons (even though Moonlight was a big fan favorite and would probably do well now in the Twilight-Vampire Diaries-True Blood world of today!).

Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim will play state police office Chin Ho Kelly on the pilot.

The Hawaii Five-0 pilot is under the direction of Fringe writer-producers  Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov, according to EW.
