A SMALLVILLE First!!! The Movie “Absolute Justice” tonight!

SMALLVILLE 9.12 “Absolute Justice
Airdate: February 5, 2010 from 8-10 pm.

There are three reasons why tonight’s SMALLVILLE is a must-see!

It’s the first time this many DC Comics superheroes (and villain) are in one SMALLVILLE event – Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Stargirl, Martian Manhunter, Skyman/Star-spangled Kid, and of course Green Arrow and the boy scout Clark Kent (not to mention Chloe aka “Watch Tower”). Counting Icicle as villain, there are more Justice League members in this than in “Legion”! Of course, SMALLVILLE isn’t calling the superheroes as the JLA (they can’t) rather they are called the Justice Society of America. That works for me, we know who they are.

And because it’s a powerhouse of supers, SMALLVILLE is making this a two-hour movie event! It’s from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., so don’t change channels along the way!

And third reason for watching SMALLVILLE tonight? The script was written by DC. Comics writer Geoff Johns! AND the second part is directed by TOM WELLING. The first hour is directed by Glen Winter!

So see you at SMALLVILLE tonight! Check back here for a post-show discussion! Meantime, check out the following SPOILERS and teasers –

Or, actually, they’re called the Justice Society of American because they are the Justice Society of America. The JSA were the precursors to the JLA, and Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl are all members of that team.

Stargirl is a member of the current version of the JSA, but not the original. Skyman/Star-Spangled Kid was a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory, not the JSA; he later became a member of Infinity, Inc. (Actually, according to Roy Thomas, all superheroes belonging to the publishing houses that later became DC Comics were members of the All-Star Squadron for the duration of the war; that was a 1980s retcon, though).

However, as a lifelong JSA fan, I’d love to see this episode when it finally gets posted online.

thanks Aaron! I didn’t know that. I guess I just thought that DC-limited access thing was in effect with the JLA name. Should have checked Google or Wikipedia.
