Daniel Radcliffe on camping scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

daniel-radcliffeDaniel Radcliffe gave the Sunday Mail some exclusive information about the camping scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, filmed on the shores of Loch Etive, near Oban, in Scotland. Here’s what he had to say:

“We were only in Scotland for one night to do the camping scenes but it was magic.

“The mountains up there looked kind of blue and the weather was great. It was fun but I am not sure how well I would cope if I really went camping.

“I’m sure I would enjoy it as long as there was someone to cook for me.

“I have done caravan holidays and they were great.

“It was when we were in a caravan in Devon that I experienced my first thunderstorm. I was terrified.”

He also spoke directly about what we should expect in the first Deathly Hallows movie:

“Part I is a road movie.

We are not in Hogwarts at all and it’s going to look very different, “And the action is going to be pretty extraordinary.”

Don’t forget: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is scheduled to be released on 19 November 2010 (2010-11-19) (Part I) and 15 July 2011 (2011-07-15) (Part II).

i have been camping in glen etive for the last 25 years, on the exact site that the film was shot i think. over this time i have watched the glen get busier and busier, and an idilic spot turned into a tourist attaction. it truely breaks my heart. all this extra publicity will only create more rubbish, more through traffic.

i really wish the location of the filming hadn’t been published.
