Guess what got nominated for a Grammy? The soundtrack of the Half-Blood Prince!

Well, isn’t this good news! Nicholas Hooper’s wonderful soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Movie Score.

If you need a quick memory jogger, here’s just one of the tracks:

Here’s the official listing:

Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media
(Award to Composer(s) for an original score created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current legitimate motion picture, television show or series or other visual media.)

* Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince
Nicholas Hooper, composer
[New Line Records]

Half-Blood Prince has some pretty serious competition: Star Trek, Milk, Up, and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button are in the running for the same award. I have to say that I loved, LOVED the new Star Trek soundtrack, but of course I hope that Harry Potter wins (maybe they can do a tie?). We can all watch the Grammys on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
