Dane Cook’s Teen Choice Awards Comments

It’s probably a good thing Dane Cook’s comments to Vanessa Hudgens were cut from last night’s airing of the 2009 Teen Choice Awards since the target audience probably would have had some questions for mom and dad otherwise. What was Dane Cook thinking? How mortifying for Vanessa:

Though the clip was cut from the actual show, MTV snagged a copy of it. The first thing Dane does when he takes the microphone is ask where Vanessa is, and a bewildered Vanessa waves from the audience. Dane then tells her she’s got to keep her clothes on, and that phones are phone calls.

It looks like Vanessa was trying to respond right before the camera cut away from her — I wish we knew what she was going to say (maybe tell him to stuff it? We can hope).

Though Vanessa didn’t take home the award for Choice Female Hottie, boyfriend Zac Efron didn’t do too badly.

Nothing against Vanessa Hudgens – she seems like a perfectly sweet girl, but as someone who was already in show business when those photos were taken,(which actually she took of herself) you have to admit that was a rather dumb move. E-mailing risque photos which anyone could see?

As for Dane Cook, yeah, he’s a bit of a jerk, but he’s also a comedian and part of his schtick is to take pot shots at people. Offensive or not, you have to admit he DID have a point.

I hope Zac DIDN’T have words with him – the less said the better.
