Today (July 20) was the press conference in Sydney, Australia for the film “G.I. Joe – The Rise of the Cobra”. The conference was held at the Walsh Bay Complex. The film is set for an August 7th release date. You can check out the official site here.
“G.I. Joe – The Rise of the Cobra” is about an elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer. Two of their taglines are: When All Else Fails, They Don’t and Evil Never Looked So Good. I would definitely have to agree with the “Evil Never Looked So Good” part.
Wikipedia has a detailed description of each individual character and who’s playing who. Channing Tatum plays Conrad Hauser/Duke, who is the lead soldier.
Marlon Wayans as Wallace Weems/The Ripcord.
Here’s a picture of some of the girls from the cast, just so you have an idea of who the love interest of some of the hunks from the movie might be.
Rachel Nichols plays Shana M. O’Hara/Scarlett. She graduated college at age twelve and became the team’s intelligence expert. Having left school so early, she does not understand men’s attraction to her.
Sienna Miller plays Baroness Anastasia DeCobray/The Baroness. She is a spy. Years before the film, The Baroness was going to marry Duke (Tatum), but he left her at the altar.
It’ll be interesting to see how this movie does at the box office. I really haven’t heard much about it!
