Remembering Michael Jackson: A Legend is Gone

If you’re like me, you enjoyed Thriller when it first came out and was played all over MTV. Yes, that was back when only music videos played on MTV…ahhh! Those were the days. ;-)

Thriller and so many of the songs on the album (I actually bought it on vinyl!!) were instant hits and Michael Jackson’s music was pervasive everywhere for decades. He invented the Moon Walk dance step and many other styles of dance that have evolved into modern hip-hop and other dance styles. He revolutionized music and dance for an entire generation.

Yes, he’s been haunted by scandals, but now they should all be laid to rest. A great music icon is gone. How very sad.

Rest in Peace, Michael. You’ll always remain in our hearts.

I remember when I was a kid the song Ben played on the radio back in the seventies.
I also remember when it was part of the soundtrack to the movie “Ben”.
I know there is a video out there somewhere when Michael performed that song.
I wonder if VH1 Classic will ever play that song?
Michael Jackson will be missed, even by the older generation.

I was graduating from A.E. Beach High in Savannah, Ga., when Michael was born. That did not stop me from loving every thing the Jackson fives did – I even watched the cartoon with my children. Did the dances, sang the songs (and so did all of my friends. Michael Jackson made you smile, and yes, even cry, especially when he did the “You are the World” benefit. Just to think that that many artists were also very taken aback about the Africa situation. You can bet I made a donation. What I really want you to know is my daughters, Regina Veronica and Sharon Yolanda went to Michael’s concert in Savannah, GA., I did not go with them, but made sure that there tickets were in the 1 or 2nd row center stage. Do you know that Michael Jackson gave my daughter, Sharon Yolanda a flower? We have it to this day. God bless Michael Jackson and his family. May Michael Jackson Rest In Peace. I belive with all of my heart and soul that there are more people that love Michael Jackson than do not.

its still so hard to believe that he’s gone.
something like this wasnt supposed to happen to a man like him. ive loved his music…always. im only 17 and its really hittin me…everytime i listen to his music its hard to believe that he is gone. i was just watchin his press converence and he looked so happy. PEOPLE FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THAT NO MATTER WHAT HE WAS GOIN THROU THAT WAS IT! FOR HIM TO BE ON STAGE YOU CAN SEE HOW HAPPY HE WAS. i watched GHOST yesterdayand all i cud do was smile. i kno the beat it dance and some bad move from is videos. like i have always thought he was handsome and his swagga when he move on the stage its overwelming and makes you feelall warm in side. THERE WILL BE NO ONE IN THIS WOLRD THAT WILL REPLACE A PERSON LIKE HIM. BUT HES NOT GONE YALL HE’LL BE BACK! M.J WILL LIVE FOREVER.

I wish Michael could see the outpouring of love from his true fans – he appeared to be a lonely man … Rest in peace Michael – you will always be remembered as the best performer of all time! If you could live off the love of your fans you would ne immortal.
