According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jay Leno won’t be taking much of a summer vacation and NBC is taking a break from Leno this summer either.
The network has already started airing promos with Jay for the 10 p.m. time slot. They are preparing for the fall launch of “The Jay Leno Show”.
The idea is to get viewers accustomed to the former “Tonight Show” host occupying the slot as part of the network’s ongoing marketing campaign for turning over the hour to “Leno” beginning Sept. 14
“Jay never left our air,” said John Miller, chief marketing officer at NBC Universal Television Group and president of the NBC Agency. “We began running promos at 10 p.m. since the day after Jay’s finale.”
The network also is shooting new Leno promo material to air in the slot during the summer.
I am looking forward to this show. I have been a Leno fan for a very long time and it’ll be interesting to see what his new show is like and who goes with him from the old show.
