With four episodes under it’s belt, the new comedy featuring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair as a self-absorbed mother-daughter duo, will gain nine more episodes for a complete 13-episode season. The show averages 6 million viewers.
Starring Christina Applegate, Samantha Who? will gain only seven more episodes for its second season, Variety reports, because of ABC’s midseason show premieres including Scrubs, The Goode Family, Better Off Ted, Single with Parents, In the Motherhood and According to Jim.
I haven’t watched Samantha Who? (though I’ve always loved Applegate) but I have watched Kath & Kim and it cracks me up. Yes, it’s a little silly, but I live in a serious world and need something to watch that’s completely fun. Molly as Kath is so funny with her romantic counterpart Phil (John Michael Higgins), who is always wearing her robes! And Selma as Kim is always barging in on her estranged husband Craig’s job (Mikey Day) acting as if she’s the only person in the universe, nearly getting him fired every time.
Kath & Kim airs at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Thursdays on NBC. Samantha Who? airs on Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
