Ty Pennington Arrested For DUI – But Wait! There’s Irony!

According to People Magazine, Ty Pennington, the hunky host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, was arrested for DUI. His clean-cut image is now tarnished, but not gone with this unfortunate event. The article states:

Ty Pennington

Pennington, 42, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Saturday by West Los Angeles traffic officers. He was booked at the county jail on a misdemeanor and released at 2:50 a.m. on $5,000 bail. A court date was set for June 4.

Ty released a statement to the public saying:

“I made an error in judgment,” Pennington said in a statement. “We all make mistakes; however, this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call.”

The irony of the whole thing is this information reported by Media Week:

File under bad timing: Hachette Filipacchi Media is teaming up with remodeling guru Ty Pennington for a new special-interest shelter magazine, Ty Pennington At Home.

Under the circumstances, Pennington may also be regretting some of the language in the magazine. A Thai-themed menu includes a recipe for “Tytinis” and encourages readers to “Thai one on.” A DIY column shows readers how to build their own wine rack.

Ok. Yes, he used poor judgement. No, he shouldn’t have been driving after drinking. But I plan to find out how to make a Tytini. After all, I already have a wine rack. ;-)

Believe me, Unfortunately, we all have to “Live and Learn”, Some time by the way of our mistakes ,Lack of Judgement, and more. I have seen in my 50 plus years the coming and goings of Family,Friends, High School Classmates,my own Nephews, one 6 yr.s old, one 16 yr.s old. As well as i could have been arrested for falling asleep @the wheel of my 1985 cougar, even though I was working to SUPPORT 3 children under 16. Thank God, even I was not hurt , enroute to my next 8 hr. plus job. My car was totalled, No one else was hurt,Thank God,and I SO DID. My soon to be exhusband worked @ the hospital where i was taken,HIS CONCERN??????? Was the car Totalled???????????? I WOKE UP THAT DAY AND SAID NO MORE TO HIM. TO MY FAMILY AND PATIENTS, I THANK GOD. AS MY CAR HYDROPLANED,NOSE FIRST,ALL I COULD SAY,WAS GOD FORGIVE ME:( THAT WAS SO LONG AGO, YET WILL NEVER LEAVE MY MIND. WE ALL OVER DO WITH OUT THINKING OF “LACK OF SLEEP”….REASONS UNKNOWN BUT WITH GOOD INTENTIONS. I DO TRUST IN GOD AND THEN SOME AS MY COPILOT,DAILY. I DON`T GO OUT TO LOOK FOR EXCUSES, SO THESE ARE THE FACTS. MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP US ALL.
